[Daehan Economy = Reporter Kim Min-su] PLANM, a South Korean relocatable modular specialist, announced on the 1st that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the construction and plant sectors with the UK-based 'Leonard Design Architects.'
The MOU signing ceremony took place during the Korea-UK Business Forum held on the 22nd of last month at Mansion House in London. The event was attended by key officials, including Kemi Badenoch, UK Secretary of State for Business and Trade; Bang Moon-kyu, South Korean Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy; Lee Min-kyu, CEO of PLANM; and Ian Stales, Director of Leonard Design Architects.
PLANM participated in the forum as part of an economic delegation organized by the Federation of Korean Industries (FKI) to commemorate the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and the UK, aimed at strengthening private-sector cooperation and promoting economic ties. Through this MOU, the two companies plan to strategically collaborate to enter the global modular market, focusing on joint design development for government projects and the advancement of sustainable modular technologies.
PLANM is a modular specialist with an annual production capacity (CAPA) of 10,000 units. To date, the company has delivered modular solutions to 127 schools and medical facilities in Korea. Its modular schools are relocatable and reusable structures that can be manufactured in various forms, such as bridges and large-span spaces. These solutions are applicable to various industries beyond education, including medical and leisure facilities.
