Yulchon LLC Hosts Ukrainian Delegation to Support Korean Companies' Entry into Reconstruction Projects
Yulchon LLC (Managing Partner Kang Seok-hoon) announced on the 24th that it hosted a meeting with a visiting Ukrainian delegation at the Parnas Tower Lecture Hall in Samseong-dong, Seoul, to exchange information and explore cooperation for post-war recovery.
According to Yulchon, this gathering was more than just a legal seminar; it was designed as a high-level networking platform connecting key Ukrainian politicians and business leaders with South Korean executives to provide practical, hands-on business consultations.
The delegation included six prominent figures, such as the Governor of Lviv Oblast, the Mayor of Horodok, National Assembly Member Dmytro Sergiyovich Pryputen, and various Ukrainian entrepreneurs. Representing Yulchon were Senior Advisor Kim Man-gi, along with key members of the Overseas Construction and Ukraine Reconstruction teams.
A total of 12 South Korean companies participated in the meeting, including Hyundai E&C, Hyundai Engineering, Samsung C&T, POSCO E&C, Daewoo E&C, Dohwa Engineering, SoluM, Ssangyong Electric, PLANM, Pantech, Daedong, and Itoxy.
The Yulchon Ukraine Reconstruction Team shared insights from their experience advising Korean firms interested in post-war recovery. They provided comprehensive guidance on optimal market entry strategies, bidding requirements, and critical risk factors, including international sanctions and regulatory compliance related to overseas projects.
Simultaneously, the Overseas Construction Team engaged in active discussions with the delegation regarding the latest project trends and policies, seeking collaborative business models for successful market entry. Ukrainian entrepreneurs, including Chairman Sergey and CEO Roman Konya, presented opportunities in reconstruction, Smart City initiatives, and the Lviv Special Industrial Zone.
"We hope this meeting strengthens the bond between Yulchon and Ukraine," said Lee Kyung-jun, Head of Yulchon’s Overseas Construction Team. "We expect today's networking to be a significant stepping stone for Korean companies to pursue sustainable and successful recovery projects."
Lee Hwa-jun, a Senior Foreign Legal Consultant leading the Ukraine Reconstruction Team, added, "Given the similarities in infrastructure and legal systems between Russia and Ukraine, Yulchon is leveraging its extensive expertise in the CIS region (including Russia and Central Asia) to assist Korean firms—especially those with prior experience in the Russian market—in successfully navigating the Ukrainian market."
Since 2022, Yulchon has been a leading provider of legal intelligence for Korean firms, hosting various seminars on topics such as "Sanctions against Russia" and "The One-Year Anniversary of the War in Ukraine."
