Kyonggi University Celebrates 78th Anniversary with the Opening of 'KGU-PLANM Lee Min-kyu Center'
[Suwon = Newsis] Reporter Byun Geun-ah – Kyonggi University celebrated its 78th anniversary with a series of commemorative events.
On November 6, the university held an opening ceremony for the ‘KGU-PLANM Lee Min-kyu Center,’ a new multi-purpose complex dedicated to student activities.
The center was established through a generous donation from Lee Min-kyu, an alumnus (Class of '95, Russian Language and Literature) and CEO of PLANM. This three-story facility is designed to serve as a central hub for student learning and collaborative exchange.
In addition to the opening, the university launched the ‘International Sister University Contemporary Art Exchange Exhibition’ to mark the anniversary. The exhibition features traditional and contemporary artworks from sister universities in three countries: Kyonggi University (South Korea), Luoyang Institute of Science and Technology (China), and Mongolian State University of Education (Mongolia). The art will be on display at the Kyonggi University Convention Center and Sosung Museum until November 20.
"We are delighted to open this meaningful space for our students and host an international cultural exchange in celebration of our 78th anniversary," said Lee Yun-kyu, President of Kyonggi University. "We will continue to strengthen our position as a prestigious institution by actively engaging with both local and international communities."
