PLANM Co., Ltd. participated in the 7th Steel & Metal Korea (SMK 2023), held at EXCO in Daegu from Wednesday, October 11, to Friday, October 13.
PLANM supplies modular units that offer rapid and safe construction, with the added benefit of being relocatable at a low cost to adapt to fluctuating student populations and changing demand. Furthermore, the company provides modular solutions that comply with full building occupancy standards, including structural safety, evacuation/fire protection, firefighting, and various indoor environment regulations. According to company officials, PLANM continues to innovate beyond traditional boundaries by integrating the entire process—including architectural design, structural engineering, R&D, factory manufacturing, and on-site construction—embodying its slogan, "Design-Build Solution."
Comprising a group of modular and architectural experts, PLANM has proven its capabilities to the Ministry of Education and institutional clients through numerous school modular projects. Beyond its in-house design and construction personnel, the company has established modular performance standards and secured core technologies by forming a professional network that includes industry-academic R&D collaborations with POSCO and Ajou University, as well as partnerships with specialized architectural and structural engineering firms.
At this exhibition, PLANM primarily showcased its flagship relocatable modules. These units are not only recyclable but also ensure structural safety performance equal to or greater than that of conventional buildings. After serving as a functional structure for a specific period, they can be dismantled and reinstalled at a different location, making them highly versatile for various settings such as schools, housing, and hotels.
The second major strength highlighted was eco-friendliness. All interior and exterior finishing materials in PLANM’s modular units are eco-friendly, ensuring they are free from the toxic substances typically emitted by standard construction materials.
Furthermore, the entire manufacturing process for PLANM’s modular units takes place in a dedicated modular production facility. A PLANM official explained, "Our manufacturing solution, realized through 100% pre-fabrication and a simplified on-site installation process, is shifting the construction paradigm away from being labor-intensive and site-centered. Every product is pre-fabricated within 2.5 months at our specialized factory, and the on-site installation takes only 2 weeks, significantly shortening the overall construction period."
PLANM has successfully completed over 6,000 modular rooms across more than 100 schools nationwide, including Seoul Daebang Elementary School, Seoul Yuhyeon Elementary School, and Incheon Inhwa Girls' High School. In 2021, the company achieved export success with its mobile PCR modular units. Additionally, its 300-bed mobile hospital development was selected as a POSCO INNOVILT product. The company continues to demonstrate consistent growth, earning Venture Business Certification, being selected for the Public Procurement Service’s (PPS) Innovative Product list, ranking among the Top 10 Innovative Product Sales Companies, and being chosen as a representative Korean company for 'WEB SUMMIT 2022' by the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund and KOTRA.
The official shared their vision, stating, "We are committed to delivering modular solutions that not only guarantee an eco-friendly, superior, and safe environment but also allow for flexible floor plan integration and division, creating spaces where people can rest, communicate, and interact."
