During the meeting, company representatives requested customized support for firms registered on Venture Nara and Innovation Market, as well as enhanced assistance for promoting products from early-stage startups.
They also proposed measures to help startups aggressively enter and grow within the public procurement market, such as creating networking opportunities between startups and public procurement officers.
In response, Administrator Lim pledged, "We will provide total support to ensure that venture and innovative companies with creative ideas and technological prowess can grow through public procurement."
In line with this, the Public Procurement Service (PPS) has selected stabilizing the livelihoods of citizens and accelerating economic recovery as its core tasks. The agency plans to assist companies in entering the public procurement market by lowering entry barriers and expanding bidding opportunities tailored to the characteristics of each firm.
In particular, the PPS has officially launched the "Public Procurement Navigator" program as of the 13th. This initiative designates dedicated consulting officers at the main headquarters and 11 regional offices—the primary points of contact for businesses—to provide one-stop information on market entry and resource utilization.
"Many companies I have met on-site since taking office have expressed difficulties in participating in the public procurement market due to a lack of information," Lim explained. "We will provide the necessary support to ensure that companies with innovative ideas and technology do not go unnoticed but instead grow into global unicorns."
Since last month, the PPS Administrator has been continuing a series of "field communication" visits to procurement sites across the country to engage directly with local economies.
