At the opening ceremony on the first day (the 13th), key dignitaries, including Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Hong Nam-ki and various foreign ambassadors, are scheduled to attend to support and encourage domestic small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The Korea Public Procurement Expo is a comprehensive fair designed to support excellent SMEs in expanding their domestic public sales channels and entering overseas procurement markets. This year, the focus is on creating public demand for new technologies and products from innovative public institutions and startups/venture companies, as well as supporting innovative growth.
In particular, the "Innovative Growth Hall" has been significantly expanded to allow visitors to experience award-winning products from innovative procurement contests and the latest high-tech products, such as AI-linked smart fire extinguishers and modular schools.
Additionally, through the Joint Technology Market Pavilion, Public Sales Promotion Hall, and Startup/Venture/Youth Enterprise Hall, visitors can explore various innovative products being promoted by public institutions along with new offerings from startups and venture firms.
A total of 13 exhibition halls, including Electronics, Office Equipment, Machinery, Construction & Environment, and Safety Products, have been established to showcase the latest technological trends.
Side events include public procurement consultation sessions, online consultations with invited foreign buyers, and briefings on entering overseas procurement markets. Furthermore, an international procurement workshop themed "Economic Recovery and Future Preparation Through Public Procurement" will be held for two days starting from the 13th.
The foreign buyer consultation session will involve 42 buyers from 17 countries, including the US and Turkey, for 1-on-1 export consultations. Export contract signing ceremonies with seven companies from four countries, including the US and Canada, are also scheduled during the expo.
The PPS will provide various support services, such as guided tours and stamp tours, for the convenience of visitors.
Kim Jeong-woo, Administrator of the PPS, stated, "We plan to actively support innovative growth by discovering and purchasing hidden innovative products from the field, thereby increasing the entry of technologically capable startups and venture companies into the public procurement market. We will ensure that innovative products from excellent domestic SMEs can enter not only the domestic market but also global procurement markets to become a driver of innovative growth."
