Eco-Friendly Modular Design-Build Specialist
Expanding into B2B Markets Following Strong B2G Performance
PLANM (CEO Lee Min-kyu), an eco-friendly modular design-build specialist, has been selected as a "2025 Preliminary Unicorn."
Since 2019, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups has annually designated "Preliminary Unicorns" to support the growth of companies with global competitiveness. The primary evaluation factors include innovation, growth potential, and global scalability. This year, 15 companies were selected.
PLANM received high marks for its rapid growth through aggressive business expansion in the modular market, which is gaining significant attention within the smart construction sector.
Now in its fifth year since establishment, PLANM is pushing to expand into the private (B2B) market, leveraging its proven construction capabilities in the public (B2G) sector—including schools, dormitories, and military officer housing. Notably, the company is currently engaged in various global projects, such as the L7 Hotel in Indiana and the T-Project in the U.S., a vocational training center in Australia, premium modular developments, and projects across the Middle East.
"Our goal is to generate more than 40% of our total revenue from global markets," PLANM stated. "Currently, over 50% of our workforce consists of R&D and global experts, and we plan to quadruple this number by 2027."

Last year, PLANM recorded 120.8 billion KRW in revenue and 29.1 billion KRW in operating profit. The company achieved an impressive operating profit margin of 24%, with its EBITDA margin reaching a staggering 68% (82.6 billion KRW).
PLANM attributed its twofold to threefold annual revenue growth to its "robust design-build process—covering everything from design and manufacturing to construction and maintenance—and its innovative, integrated production facility spanning 165,000 square meters, the largest of its kind in Korea."
The company is currently aiming for an Initial Public Offering (IPO) next year. Lee Min-kyu, CEO of PLANM, stated, "With our selection as a Preliminary Unicorn and the attractive government support aimed at fostering global unicorns, we will become the leading protagonist of 'K-Modular' that the world watches with keen interest."
