[Daehan Economy = Reporter Jang Jin-woo] PLANM (CEO Lee Min-gyu), a company specializing in modular construction, announced on the 20th that it held a completion ceremony on the 19th for the military officer quarters fabricated and installed in Hongcheon, Gangwon-do.
At the completion ceremony on this day, military officers personally toured the quarters through a pre-inspection. A military official expressed satisfaction with the excellent quality and design, presenting PLANM with a letter of appreciation. Move-in for the quarters is scheduled for September 1st.
The Hongcheon military officer quarters is PLANM's first project with the Ministry of National Defense. Through various case studies, PLANM aimed to build a differentiated military structure from the design stage by enhancing quality and living convenience, and applying a new exterior design. Specifically, the width of the quarters was widened to 3.9m from the original plan, expanding the living space to a dedicated area of 24㎡.
In addition, an external insulation method was applied to minimize condensation and heat loss. User convenience was enhanced with the introduction of system furniture, and a semi-permanent exterior was achieved by applying ceramic siding, which is a lightweight and non-combustible material. In particular, the modular joints were vertically protruded and shaded to emphasize design elements.
Following the completion of the Hongcheon military officer quarters, PLANM plans to immediately break ground on the Hwacheon military officer quarters, continuing to expand its military housing business.
CEO Lee Min-gyu said, "As this was our first military quarters project, we poured our heart and soul into it," adding, "Since we received such a positive evaluation to the point of being awarded a letter of appreciation by the military, I hope this serves as an opportunity to expand the Ministry of National Defense modular market."
