This agreement signifies that the project has transitioned into the substantive design service stage following the Letter of Commitment (LOC) signed with the U.S.-based Eastern Group last year. Following the PCSA, both companies plan to step-by-step execute key tasks, including steel modular-specific design, establishing manufacturing and process strategies, and managing local permitting.
Westfield, Indiana, where the hotel will be built, is an area with consistent demand for sports and events centered around the Grand Park Sports Campus. It is a high-growth region with increasing business demand driven by expanding investments in advanced manufacturing infrastructure, such as batteries and semiconductors. The area is expected to see a broad formation of various modular commercial facilities, including hotels, residences, and offices, catering to both short-term stays and long-term business trips.
This "K-Modular Export-Type Hotel Development Project" will feature 228 rooms built using a high-end steel modular system and will be operated under the Lotte Hotel brand. PLANM emphasized that this project is significant as it serves as a leading domestic case implementing U.S. modular certification procedures. The company plans to complete manufacturing in the second half of this year, followed by maritime transport and sequential supply according to the shipping and installation schedule. The final goal is to complete construction and open by the second half of 2027.
Through its partnership with Eastern Group, PLANM is fleshing out additional modular projects across the United States. Notably, the company has secured strong local interest and cooperation, even hosting the Mayor of Westfield and working-level officials in Korea to personally demonstrate PLANM’s manufacturing capabilities and project execution plans. Additionally, PLANM's urban development project in Northam, Australia, was recently selected for a feasibility study support program by the Korea Overseas Infrastructure & Urban Development Corporation (KIND).
